Woolen Shawls & Stoles

Wool woven in Kashmir is known as "raffel". Many types of embroidery are worked on these shawls. "Sozni" (Needlework) is generally done in panels along the sides of the shawl in a rectangular fashion. Motifs, usually abstract designs or stylized paisleys and flowers are worked in one or two, occasionally three colors. “Aari” (Crochet) work is also done on shawls. Crochet work (crewel embroidery) may be done along the borders in a reactangular fashion, in an allover creeper or floral design or the "Jamawar" fashion where the embroidery covers the entire background surface of the shawl.
Custom sizes can also be made on pre order.
