Due to the nature of crewel work, there are inherent issues that are unavoidable and do not carry the same guarantee as machine embroidered fabrics.
Handcrafted in Kashmir using age old embroidery techniques, crewel work is indigenous to this region only.
Each piece of fabric is unique, as different groups of workers are employed for each piece.
Every care is taken to maintain a consistent yarn color & embroidery pattern, however it is not practically possible to maintain perfect matches. There may also be missing yarns / slight staining. This is deemed normal.

    Beautiful!

I was somewhat uncertain about ordering this fabric without being able to see and touch it first but the pattern and colors seemed perfect for my new home. I'm so glad I decided to take the chance as the fabric is exactly as I hoped it would be. I'm going to use it to replace the upholstery on an old wing-back chair that was damaged when my home was destroyed by a tornado. This fabric and embroidery are of the same quality as the original chair. I'm sure my new house will feel more like home because of them.

    Stunning

I just ordered a swatch sample of this fabric along with a number of others, and I can see why this one is more expensive. It's absolutely gorgeous, with fine, dense needlework and just stunning colours. The design and quality are simply superb. I live in India and have looked at loads of crewel work being sold in shops, from the basic looser-stitch style to really fine, expensively-worked fabrics, and I can honestly say that this one is in a class of its own - and the price is actually lower than what I could buy it for here in a store. I'm really impressed.
